Tamrielis the continent on whichElder Scrolls Onlinetakes place. It is located on the planetNirnin theMundus,and it is being pulled intoOblivionbyMolag Bal'sPlanemeld.Tamriel is currently divided between three military alliances: theAldmeri Dominion,theDaggerfall Covenantand theEbonheart Pact.Given the current events, Tamriel is not divided along traditionalprovincelines; seezonesfor more information.
Tamriel serves as the parent map for most zones. A few individual locations also use Tamriel as the parent map, making themUnzoned.

Notes[edit]
- Tamriel has an associated loading screen text attached to it in-game, however, since there is no way to travel to it specifically, it is never visually displayed. The text reads:
- It was at the Convention of the Aedra that the land was first called "Tamriel," which in the ancient tongues means "Dawn's Beauty." There are those, however, who prefer to translate it as "Starry Heart."
