TheSkeffington Covenis a notable group ofwitchesthat live in the Barony ofPhrygias,within the province ofHigh Rock.The Skeffington Coven has been active as far as the lateFirst Era,all the way into3E 417.The Skeffington operates atOld Barbyn's Farm,deep in the wilderness of Phrygias, somewhere near theWrothgarian Mountains.

There is an area known as theSkeffington Woodaround Camlorn and theEbon Wasteswhich is presumably linked to the Coven.[1]

History[edit]

In1E 2920,the Skeffington Coven had taken in a woman namedTurala,who was once the lover of the Duke ofMournhold,Brindisi Dorom.[2]However, after a trip toWayrest,the Skeffington Coven was killed in a massacre caused by anOrcishraiding party, supposedly sent by Brindisi Dorom himself. Enraged, Turala had called forthMehrunes Dagonto burn Mournhold into the ground, and so he did.[3]

Whatever happened to the remaining witches is unknown, but by3E 405,the Skeffington Coven was active, working out of Old Barbyn's Farm.[4]In3E 417,an Agent of theBlades,known as the "Graylady"was undercover in the Skeffington Coven when theWarp in the West,on their way to the city ofCamlorn,the group was interrupted by a three-way clash betweenDaggerfall,Wayrest, andOrsinium,which left an inferno as far asIlessan HillsandGavaudon.[5]

The coven acknowledged Kynareth. Members of the coven also acknowledged three air spirits: Amaro, Pina, and Tallatha, who were believed to be "the fingers of Kynareth".[2]
