History[edit]

Trueflame

In the ancient times, Radac was a soldier and a weaponsmith. He was responsible for crafting tools andweaponsfor his troops. He lived and worked in the Dwemer city Bamz-Amschend.[2]

As of3E 427Radac's name was known among the citizens ofMournhold.According to rumors, he was a powerful Dwemer mystic who once lived in Bamz-Amschend. It was believed that although he was long gone some of his writings could be preserved.[3]

In the same year, theNerevarinewas tasked byAlmalexiato reforge theTrueflameas a step to retaking their station and reunitingMorrowind. The sword had been broken into three pieces, one which the goddess provided. Another two were held byKing Hlaalu Helseth's champion,KarrodandTorasa Aram.Nerevarine ultimately obtained all the fragments. Once the pieces were recovered, the smithYagak gro-Glukwas tasked with reconstructing the blade, which was a success. It was the smith who shared the rumor of the mystic with the hero.[1][3]

Seeking to enchant the blade, the Nerevarine then journeyed intoBamz-Amschend,hoping to retrieve Radac's writings. There, they discovered Radac's ghost. Radac revealed that he was not a mystic, but a mere soldier and artisan, but agreed to help nevertheless, as his skills were more than sufficient to help the hero. He applied Pyroil Tar to the blade, which the Nerevarine had retrieved from the depths of Norenen-dur. With his help the blade was finally reforged and reignited.[1]
