The ceremony took place on March 6, 2004 and aired on March 11, 2004 onFox.It was hosted byJill Marie Jones,Persia White,Golden BrooksandTracee Ellis Ross.[1][2]

American preacherT. D. Jakeswas honored with thePresident's Award.TheDave Matthews Bandwas recognized with theChairman's Award,while American singer and actressBeyoncéwas awarded as theEntertainer of the Year.[3]During the ceremonyRay Charleswas inducted into theNAACP Hall of Fame,three months before his death at 73 on June 10, 2004.[4]
