Beverstedtis a municipality in thedistrict of Cuxhaven,inLower Saxony,Germany.It is situated approximately 20 km southeast ofBremerhaven,and 40 km north ofBremen.
Beverstedt belonged to thePrince-Archbishopric of Bremen.In 1648 the Prince-Archbishopric was transformed into theDuchy of Bremen,which was first ruled inpersonal unionby the Swedish and from 1715 on by the Hanoverian Crown. In 1823 the Duchy was abolished and itsterritorybecame part of theStade Region.
Beverstedt was the seat of the formerSamtgemeinde( "collective municipality" )Beverstedt.[3]
Transport
[edit]The municipality is connected to the road network by means of theBundesstraße 71.It is also connected to the railway network byStubben railway station.
