Delta Electronics, Inc.(also known asDELTAorDelta Electronics) is a Taiwanese electronics manufacturing company. Its headquarters are inNeihu,Taipei. It is known for itsDCindustrial andcomputer fans,data centerrectifiersandswitching power supplies.The company operates approximately 200 facilities worldwide, including manufacturing, sales, and R&D centers.[1]

Environmental, Social and Governance
[edit]Delta has long history of being a leader in theenvironmental, social, and governance(ESG) space. Among companies based in Taiwan, it was the first to issue a Corporate Social Responsibility (ESG) report in 2005, and publishes a new report annually.[4]It has been listed on theDow Jones Sustainability Indicesfor 14 consecutive years and has achieved a top 10%S&P GlobalCSA score in its most recent 2024 ranking.[5]
Delta was named 24th inTime Magazine's2024 ranking of the world's mostsustainablecompanies.[6]In addition, Delta was awarded double A-list ratings for the third time in a row by theCDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project)in their most recent 2024 ratings.[7]
The company has engaged in a joint project with theNational Museum of Marine Science and Technologyto engage incoral reef restorationoff the northeast coast ofTaiwan.Through an ambitiousdivingprogram helmed by forty volunteer divers who are also Delta employees, the company plans to transplant and breed over a thousand corals to themarine protected areasaround Tawan. The coral breeding project adoptscryopreservationtechniques and Delta's ownLED lampsfor restoration of the delicate ecosystem.[8]
Delta's U.S. headquarters inFremont, California,was built in 2016. It showcases many of Delta's owngreen energyandbuilding automationproducts in its build. Prominently, it features ageothermal heat pumpsystem and a fullrooftop solar system.Delta's own products are most visible through thephotovoltaicpower generating systems on the roof and carports, theelectric vehiclecharging stationsthroughout the property, and managedLED lighting systems.The building was awarded aLEEDZero Energy certification in 2022, an upgrade from the LEED Platinum designation it achieved at the time it was built. At the time of completion, it was the first greenbuilding with net-zero energy consumptionin the city of Fremont and only the second in theSan Francisco Bay Area[9]
History
[edit]Delta Electronics[10]was founded in 1971 inXinzhuang Town,Taipei County (nowXinzhuang District,New Taipei City). Its first products were TV deflection coils, electronic components and winding magnetic components. It is also a supplier of cooling components.[11][12]On August 20, 1975, Delta Electronics was reorganized into a company limited by shares.[citation needed]
As a result of theUS-China trade war,Delta cut its headcount in China by more than half and expanded operations in India and Southeast Asia.[2]
In 2023, Delta totaled NT$401.2bn (approximately US$13B) in sales.[13]
In December 2021, the company announced the acquisition of United States–basedUniversal Instruments Corporationfor approximately 89 million dollars. The more than 100-year-old Universal Instruments will continue to operate independently and without a change in management. Universal holds more than 500 automation relatedpatents.[14]
In July 2022, Delta announced that they would be expanding theirPlano, Texasfacility with the addition of a 400,000-square-foot manufacturing, research, and development hub that could require "hundreds" of new employees and operate on 100%renewable energyby 2030.[1]
