Fagus hayatae,also known asTaiwan beech,is a species ofbeech tree.It can grow 20 metres (66 ft) tall.[2]It is the only beech species native toTaiwan.[3]WhileIUCNreports it, asendemicto Taiwan, "Flora of China"[2]and "Flora of Taiwan"[3]also report it from China; "Flora of China"reports a wide but discontinuous mainland distribution betweenSichuanin the southwest toZhejiangin the east.
