James Joseph Rileyis an Americanfluid dynamicist.He is PACCAR professor of engineering in the department ofmechanical engineeringof theUniversity of Washington.[1][conflicted source]
Riley graduated fromRockhurst Universityin 1965.[citation needed]He received aPhDfromJohns Hopkins Universityin 1972.[1][conflicted source]He is a fellow of theAmerican Physical Society,[2]of theAmerican Society of Mechanical Engineers[3]and of theAmerican Association for the Advancement of Science.[4]He was also elected a member of theNational Academy of Engineeringin 2014 for contributions in analysis, modeling, and computations of transitioning and turbulent phenomena.[5]
