Lachaussée(French pronunciation:[laʃose]) is acommunein theMeusedepartmentinGrand Estin north-easternFrance.In January 1973, it absorbed the former communes Haumont-lès-Lachaussée and Hadonville-lès-Lachaussée.[3]
Geography
[edit]The village of Lachaussée lies on the south-eastern rim of a huge pond namedÉtang de Lachaussée,which was created during theMiddle Agesfrom a marsh area and then devoted topisciculture.
