Niororo Islandor spelled in some maps asNyororo Island(Kisiwa cha Niororo,inSwahili) is an island of theMafia Archipelagolocated inKirongweward ofMafia Districtin southernPwani RegionofTanzania.The island has a small islet to the south east. The Island is located north ofShungumbili Islandand is bordered to the north isMafia Island.[1]To the south isJuani Islandand to the east is thesea of Zanj.Many locations, particularly off Miewi island, were used for the majority of thesport fishingindustry in the islands. However,Tutia Reefwas regarded to be the best fishing location.[2]
