Anatomical terminology

Theoccipital lymph nodes,one to three in number, are located on the back of the head close to the margin of thetrapeziusand resting on the insertion of thesemispinalis capitis.

Their afferent vessels drain theoccipitalregion of thescalp,while their efferents pass to thesuperior deep cervical glands.
