Perniö(Finnish pronunciation:[ˈperniø];Swedish:Bjärnå) is aformer municipalityofFinland.It was consolidated withSaloon January 1, 2009.
It is located in theprovinceofWestern Finlandand is part of theSouthwest Finlandregion.The municipality had a population of 6,026 (2004-12-31) and covered an area of 407.79 km² (excluding sea) of which 9.91 km² is inland water. Thepopulation densitywas 15.15 inhabitants per km².
The municipality was unilinguallyFinnish.
