Sir Richard Wilson Jewson,KCVO,CStJ,JP(born 5 August 1944) is a British businessman and a formerLord-Lieutenant of Norfolk.[1]

He was educated atRugby SchoolandPembroke College, Cambridge(MA).

He started work in the timber and building material supply industry and became managing director ofJewson.He was then appointed chairman of Jewson's parent company Meyer International plc, retiring in 1993. He has since held chairmanships ofArchant(1997–) andSavills PLC(1994–2004).[2]He also previously chaired the Council of theUniversity of East Anglia.[3]

He was appointedHigh Sheriff of Norfolkfor 2000–01 when he lived inBarnham Broom.[4]In 2004 he was appointedLord-LieutenantofNorfolk,the representative of the monarch in the county.

He was appointed a Knight Commander of theRoyal Victorian Order(KCVO) in the2019 New Year Honourslist 29 December 2018.[5]

In April 2019 he received theFreedom of the BoroughfromKing's Lynn and West NorfolkandGreat YarmouthBorough Councils.[6]
