Rufaais a city in theAl Jazirahstate in east-centralSudan.[1]
The twin city ofAl-Hasaheisa(Arabic:الحَصَاحِيصَا) lies on the eastern bank of theBlue Nile.
On 18 December 2023, the city was seized by theRapid Support Forcesduring theWar in Sudan.[2]By 14 January 2025, the SAF recaptured the village.[3]
