Savar(Bengali:সাভার) is a city in centralBangladesh,located in theDhaka Districtin thedivision of Dhaka.It is the closest city fromDhaka.It is also a part of theGreater Dhakaconurbation which forms theDhaka megacity.About 380,000 people live here which makes this city the second most populous in the district and the13th largestin Bangladesh.[2]

Demographics
[edit]According to the2011 Bangladesh censusSavar Paurashava had 75,902 households and a population of 296,851, of which 157,018 are males and 139,833 are females with a density of 21,083 inhabitants per square kilometre (54,600/sq mi). 52,614 (17.72%) were under 10 years of age. Savar has a literacy rate of 74.86% and a sex ratio of 891 females per 1000 males.[2]In 2022, Savar has a population of 384,093 and had a literacy rate of 86.00%.[1]
