Merge

[edit]

Suggest this gets merged withAuckland Airport Lineas it is essentially about the same thing, only a bit further on.NealeFamily(talk)09:38, 16 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sources for proposed routes

[edit]

Are there any reliable sources to show the exact location of the LRT routes?Ajf773(talk)18:36, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Jackgill06:could you please cite the source for the map of the proposed LRT route you added in this edit?[1]

Picture

[edit]

Doesn't really make sense to use a picture of a heavy rail diesel multiple unit as the illustration for this article... --LJ Holden08:19, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it.Subsequent comments should be made in a new section.A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
Tonotmerge; uncontested objection with stale discussion; expand rather than merge.

I believe this page should be merged withCity Centre–Māngere Lineand the title of the page changed to 'Auckland Light Rail' as this seems to be the official name for the new project. The pages have significant overlap and the small section on history can be moved toPublic transport in AucklandorTransport in Auckland.

If no one has any issues with this, I will proceed with the merge.Ryanmoooore(talk)13:02, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That seems like a good idea for now, although the article might need more balance to cover the northwestern light rail route proposal. I think if any of these proposals get greenlit, they could potentially have separate articles. --Prosperosity(talk)20:59, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
See the comment that I made on City Centre-Mangere Line:
I have significant issue with it. This page is substantially different and it is not true that there is only a single line planned/proposed (i.e Northwest Light Rail Line, Crosstown line, extension to the North Shore). Light Rail in Auckland should be about Light Rail overall in Auckland (including the history and heritage tram system) while this page provides significantly more detail on this specific line. The problem that you are attempting to address is that the Light Rail in Auckland page needs expansion to cover the other proposals more as well as the heritage light rail systems, not that the pages need to be merged. I plan on going through and doing this when I have time, but if anyone else is able to start on that now that would be great.
There is a lot of information about the heritage tram lines missing from this article.
