WDAC(94.5FM) is acommercialradio stationlicensed toLancaster, Pennsylvania,known as "Hope 94.5." It is owned by the WDAC Radio Company and broadcasts aChristian radioformat.[4]Christian Adult Contemporarymusic is heard in morningdrive timeand late evenings. Other hours featureChristian talk and teachingshows fromDavid Jeremiah,Jim Daly,Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth,Alistair Begg,Chuck Swindolland others. WDAC'sradio studiosandtransmitterare on Lancaster Pike inNew Providence.[5][6]

WDAC has aneffective radiated power(ERP) of 19,000watts.[7]It broadcasts usingHD Radiotechnology. Its HD2digital subchannelhas aChristian radioformat with the slogan "HOPE Music for the Heart!"[8]

History

TheFederal Communications Commission(FCC) granted Percy B. Crawford aconstruction permitfor a new FM station on April 15, 1959. The originalcall signwasWLPH.On May 25, 1959, the call sign was changed toWDAC.[9]

WDACsigned onfor first time on December 13, 1959.[2]It was granted its first license on August 1, 1960.[9]On December 16, 1960, the FCC granted a reassignment of the station's license to Ruth Marjorie Crawford following the death of Percy Crawford.[9]

On June 19, 1973, the FCC granted a voluntary reassignment of the station's license to the WDAC Radio Company, effective July 2, 1973.[9]From its earliest days, the station has broadcast a Christian radio format.

WDSD and WIAD operate on 94.7 MHz, a first adjacent channel to WDAC.
