Cafardis a 2015French-Dutch-Belgiananimatedwar filmwritten and directed by Jan Bultheel.[4]The film tells the story of a boxer, Jean Mordant (based on the real-life Henri Herd, known as Constant le Marin), who joins theBelgian Expeditionary Corpswhich is sent to theRussian EmpireduringWorld War Iin order to avenge the rape of his daughter by German soldiers inOccupied Belgium.[5]

The film was theatrically released in Belgium on 23 September 2015, and in France on 12 December.[2]It grossed $20,771 in Belgium,[6]and received positive reviews from critics.[5][7]
