Cundinupis a rurallocalityof theShire of Nannupin theSouth Westregion of Western Australia. A small section in the far east of the locality is located in theShire of Donnybrook–Balingup.The western boundary of the locality is formed by theVasse Highwaywhile, in the east, the border runs along theBlackwood Riverin places. Much of the locality is covered by state forest.[2][3]

Cundinup and the Shire of Nannup are located on the traditional land of theBibulmanandWardandipeople of theNoongarnation.[4][5][6]The suffix-upis commonly found in place names in south-western Western Australia and is ofNoongar origin,meaning "place of".[7]
