Éamonn Lawlor(born 1951) is anIrishradio broadcaster onRTÉ lyric fm.
Éamonn Lawlor was born inDelvin,County Westmeath.[citation needed]He was educated atRockwell College,Cashel,[citation needed]andUniversity College Dublinwhere he received a Master of Arts in Modern English and American Literature. Lawlor is one ofIreland's leading current affairs broadcasters. He wasRTÉ News and Current Affairs'sEuropeCorrespondent from 1979 to 1989.[1]He became the second male presenter ofRTÉ News: Six One,from 1992 to 1996. He then joinedBrian FarrellandMiriam O'Callaghanas one of the co-presenters of the current affairs programmePrime TimeonRTÉ One.[2]
In May 1999 Lawlor left the current affairs department of RTÉ and joinedRTÉ lyric fm.He currently presentsThe Lyric Concertevery weekday nights.[2]Lawlor is also a visiting lecturer at the International Academy of Broadcasting in Montreux, Switzerland.[3]
