The11th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awardswas held on April 4, 1998, atPauley PavilionatUCLAin Los Angeles, California. Pop bandHansonwon the most awards of the night, with wins for Favorite Group & Favorite Song. The ceremony is also notable for leading into "Dog Gone", the first episode of Nickelodeon's then newest Nicktoon,CatDog.This is the first show to take place at thePauley Pavilionin California.

The theme was "Kid Power" as several kids (who were also the winners of the Kids' Choice Sweepstakes) presented the awards with the celebrities and the winners were announced in strangeRube Goldbergmachines)

Summer Sandersalso presented some awards withKevin Kopelow,Erin Dean,Jeffrey "J" Dumas andLori Beth Denbergon the set ofFigure it Out

At the end of the show, it was revealed that the kids voted for "Favorite Dresser" as the new category, and the inaugural winner of the blimp for Fave Dresser was none other thanPuff Daddy. As Rosie congratulated Puffy on the win, she paused to ask him a trivia question: "What do you think those orange blimps are made of?" The dumbfounded Puffy replied with "Uhhh... I don't know..." thus triggering the green slime to come splattering down on him. Puffy, clearly amused, said "Y'all think that's funny?" before bolting into the audience with his whole self covered in slime.

It's also worth noting that Titanic was the only film to win the Oscar for Best Picture and the Kids Choice Award for Favorite Movie.
