Doha,Qatarwas chosen as the2010Arab Capital of Culture,an initiative ofUNESCO's Cultural Capitals Program to promoteArab cultureand encourage cooperation in theArab world.[1][2]TheQatari governmentprepared for the festival in different ways, including building an $82 million cultural village.[3][4]
