The2024–25 Bundesligais the 62nd season of theBundesliga,Germany's premier men'sfootballcompetition. The season began on 23 August 2024 and is scheduled to conclude on 17 May 2025.

Season overview

The season began on 23 August 2024, and is scheduled to go into the winter break after the 15th matchday on 22 December. With the 16th matchday, the season will continue on 10 January 2025. The final 34th matchday is scheduled for 17 May 2025.[1][2]

The regular season is played as around-robin tournament.Each team will play a total of 34 matches, half at home and half away.

The fixtures were announced on 4 July 2024.[3]

Holstein Kiel made its Bundesliga debut, making it the 58th different Bundesliga club and the first club fromSchleswig-Holstein,and returning to the German top flight after 60 years of absence. The club also replacedHansa Rostockas the northernmost club in league history.[4]

FC St. Paulireturned to the Bundesliga after a thirteen-year absence.[5]For the first time ever, FC St. Pauli plays in a season at a higher level thanlocal rivalsHamburger SV.
