The26th parallel northis acircle of latitudethat is 26degreesnorthof theEarth'sequatorial plane.It crossesAfrica,Asia,theIndian Ocean,thePacific Ocean,North Americaand theAtlantic Ocean.
A section of theborderbetweenWestern SaharaandMauritaniais defined by the parallel.[1]
It is the most populous parallel on Earth, being home to between 247.2 million and 248.0 million people as of 2019.[2]
