550 Music(originally known asSony 550 Music) was a unit ofSony Music Entertainment,which operated through Sony Music'sEpic Recordsdivision while in activity.[1]Launched in1992,the "550" name was inspired by the address of theSonybuilding, located at550 Madison AvenueinNew York.The label was folded in2000by Epic Records, it was part of the restructuring whenTommy Mottolawas leaving Sony Music.
