Ali Husain Aasim Bihari(April 15, 1889 – December 6, 1953)[1]was an Indian social activist fromBihar.[2]
Biography
[edit]Aasim Bihari was born inBihar Sharifand later moved toKolkata.He led literacy campaigns and organised theMomin Ansaricommunity. He founded several newspapers and Jamiat-ul-Momineen, an organisation that advocated forMuslimweavers. He is considered one of the pioneers of the Pasmanda movement in India.[3]
He died on 6 December 1953 inAllahabad.[4][5]
Legacy
[edit]A biography of Bihari, entitledBanda-e-Momin Ka Hath (lit. A Believer's Hand),which was written by Ahmad Sajjad, was published in 2011.[6]
