Saint Abran(Bretonfor 'Abraham'), was a 6th-century Irishhermitin Brittany.

Life

Abran was born inIrelandand was a brother ofGibrian.[1]Abran and Gibrain traveled toBrittanywith their siblings. The five brothers and three sisters chose a life of devotion toGodinconsecrated religious life.Abran lived in ahermitageon theMarne River,which had been given to him bySaint Remigius.

Abran and his siblings are all consideredsaintsfor their positiveChristianinfluence upon theBreton people.

Saint Abran'sfeast dayis 8 May on theWestern Rite OrthodoxandRoman Catholic Churchcalendars.
