Abu-l-Hasan Ali ibn Mohammed al-Tamgruti(Arabic:علي بن محمد التمكروتي;born inTamegrouteca. 1560, died in 1594/5) was a Moroccan author, ambassador, fqih and one of the most important officials of theSaadiancourt during the reign ofAhmad al-Mansur.[1]He was in charge of the embassy to the Turkish sultanMurad IIItogether with secretary of stateAbd al-Aziz al-Fishtali.[2][3]He is best known because of therihlaof his journey toIstanbulin 1590-91.[4]He was buried in the sanctuary ofQadi AyyadinMarrakesh.
