Abu Hasem Khan Choudhury(born 12 January 1938), also known asDalu,is an Indian politician and formerUnion Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare.[1]He has represented theMaldaha Dakshin (Lok Sabha constituency)since 2009. He was first electedM.Pfrom his brotherA.B.A. Ghani Khan Choudhury's seatMalda (Lok Sabha constituency)as a member of theIndian National Congressparty.[2]

A. H. Khan was born into aBengali Muslimfamily inMalda district,West Bengal.His father, Khan Bahadur Abu Hayat B. Khan Choudhury was aZamindarinMalda districtduringBritish Raj.[3][4]
Political career[edit]
Khan servedMLAofKaliachakfrom 1996 to 2006. After his brotherA.B.A. Ghani Khan Choudhurydeath's he was elected to M.P fromMalda (Lok Sabha constituency)as a member of theIndian National Congressparty. From 22 September 2012 to 16 May 2014 he served asUnion Minister of State for Health and Family WelfareunderUPA Government.[5][6]
