Al-Ittihad Sport, Cultural & Social Club(Arabic:نادي إتحاد طرابلس الرياضي الثقافي الاجتماعي) famously known as 'Al-Ittihad,is afootballclub based inBab Ben Gashier,Tripoli, Libya.They have won theLibyan Premier League19 times, theLibyan Cup7 times and theLibyan SuperCup11 times.[citation needed]Al-ittihad reached the semi-finals of theCAF Confederation Cupin 2010.[citation needed]
History
[edit]Al-Ittihad Club was founded on July 29, 1944, after a merger between three clubs, "Al Ummal", "Al Nahda" & "Al Shabab". Mohamed Al-Krewi (Arabic:محمد الكريو) was the founder and first president.[1]

[edit]Al ittihad play their home games at theTripoli Stadium,6 km from center ofTripoli.They share the 80,000 capacity ground withAl-Ahl TripoliandAl Madina.The club owns the 5,000 capacityAl Mala'b Al Baladi(Arabic:الملعب البلدي). Located in central Tripoli, the ground is now used for training.
