Alan James Dunne(born 23 August 1982) is a former Irish professionalfootballerwho played as aright back.He has joined Fisher Atletic as manager as of November 2024. He played in theEnglish Football LeagueforMillwallandLeyton Orientas well as in non-league football for Bromley.

Early life

Dunne was born inDublin,County Dublin.[5]

Career

Dunne started his career withMillwall's youth system, before signing a professional contract in March 2000.[6]He made his first-team debut on 19 March 2002 againstSheffield United.[7]At the end of the2009–10 season,Dunne was awarded Player of the Year.[8]He was sent off a record ten times for Millwall and also received 85 yellow cards in his Millwall career.[citation needed]Dunne was released by Millwall at the end of the 2014–15 season after 22 years at the club.[9]

On 27 July 2015, Dunne signed for newly relegatedLeague TwoclubLeyton Orienton a two-year contract.[10]He left Orient by mutual consent on 18 January 2017.[11]

On 20 January 2017, Dunne signed forNational LeagueclubBromley.[12]He made his debut for the club in a 3–1 home victory overSouthporton 28 January.[13]
