Aldein(German:[alˈdaɪn];Italian:Aldino[alˈdiːno]) is acomune(municipality) and a village inSouth Tyrolin northernItaly,located about 15 kilometres (9 mi) south of the city ofBolzano.
Aldein borders the following municipalities:Bronzolo,Montan,Deutschnofen,Auer,TrudenandVille di Fiemme.It contains thefrazione(subdivision) Radein (Redagno).
History[edit]
A settlement calledAldinumis mentioned for the first time in 1177, in 1185 the name appears asAlden.[3]
Coat-of-arms[edit]
The coat of arms is dividedparty per fess;on the top are two quarter-circle,azureonargentbackground that represents theWeisshorn.The lower part shows the argent cross of Saint Andrew shortened that represent the four original hamlets on agulesbackground as the mountain ofporphyrite.The arms were adopted in 1969. [4]
