Alnod John BogerJP(31 August 1871 – 3 June 1940) was anEnglishfirst-classcricketerand barrister.

The son of Hext Boger and Blanche Luz Bacon (daughter of Major GeneralAnthony Bacon), he was born in August 1871 atStonehouse, Devon.[1]He was educated atWindlesham House SchoolandWinchester College,before going up toMagdalen College, Oxford.[2][3]

While studying at Oxford, Boger made six appearances infirst-class cricketforOxford Universityin 1891 and 1892.[4]He scored a total of 143 runs in his six matches, at anaverageof 13.00 and a high score of 41not out.[5]With his right-armslow bowling,he took 9 wickets with best figures of 6 for 63,[6]which came against theMarylebone Cricket Clubon debut in 1891.[7]He gained abluein cricket and represented the university ingolfin 1893 and 1894.[8]After graduating from Oxford, he wascalled to the baras a member of theInner Temple.

Ineligible for active service as the result of losing an eye in a shooting accident, he volunteered as an ambulance driver for theBritish Red Cross Societyat the start ofWorld War Iand ended the conflict as a lieutenant in theRoyal Naval Volunteer Reserve.[9][10][11]He later served as ajustice of the peaceand was theHigh Sheriff of Cornwallin 1925.[1][12]

Boger died atOxfordin June 1940.[8]
