Andrew Imre Flint Macdonald[1](born January 1966) is a Scottish film producer, best known for his collaborations with screenwriterJohn Hodgeand directorDanny Boyle(includingShallow Grave(1994),[2]Trainspotting(1996),The Beach(2000) and28 Days Later(2002),[3]and writer-directorAlex Garland.

Life and career

Together withDuncan Kenworthy,he is also the founder ofDNA Films,the production company responsible forThe Parole Officer(2001),28 Days Later(2002),Sunshine(2007),28 Weeks Later(2007),28 Years Later(TBA), two of whichDanny Boyledirected andAlex Garlandwrote. He also produced Garland's directorial debutEx Machina.

He is the brother ofOscar-winning documentary makerKevin Macdonald.His maternal grandparents were English actress Wendy Orme and Hungarian-born BritishJewishOscar-winning filmmakerEmeric Pressburger.
