Andrew Hay(born 5 November 1973) is an English former professionalrugby leaguefootballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s, and hascoachedin the 2000s and 2010s. He played at representative level forEmerging England,EnglandandYorkshire,and at club level for theCastleford Tigers,Sheffield Eagles,Leeds Rhinos,Widnes Vikingsand theDoncaster Lakers[4][1]and has coached at club level for theCastleford Tigers(Assistant Coach underTerry Matterson(2005–11)),Hull F.C.(Assistant Coach underPeter Gentle(2012–13)),Salford Red Devils(assistant coach) andFeatherstone Rovers.

Playing career[edit]

Andy Hay appeared as asubstitute(replacingcentreGrant Andersonon 63-minutes) inCastleford Tigers' 33–2 victory overWiganin the1993–94 Regal TrophyFinal during the1993–94 seasonatHeadingley,Leedson Saturday 22 January 1994.[5]

Hay played forLeedsfrom the substitute bench in their1998 Super League Grand Finalloss toWigan.Hay was anEnglandinternational and played at the2000 Rugby League World Cup,scoring two tries in consecutive games against Russia and Fiji respectively.[2]

Coaching career[edit]

On 16 May 2014, he left the assistant coach role at theSalford Red Devilsto take up the head coach role atKingstone Press ChampionshipclubFeatherstone Rovers.[3][6][7]

On 25 Aug 2021 it was announced byRugby League Deutschlandthat Andy had been appointed as their new performance director[8]
