Anesti Danelis
Anesti Danelisis a Canadian musical comedian fromToronto,Ontario.[1]
Previously associated with the sketch comedy troupe FomoSapiens,[2]he premiered his first solo showSongs for the New World Orderat the 2017Toronto Fringe Festival.[3]He toured the show to various other Canadian and international fringe theatre festivals in 2017 and 2018, and received aCanadian Comedy Awardnomination for Best Variety Act at the19th Canadian Comedy Awardsin 2019.[4]
He returned to the Toronto Fringe Festival in 2019 with his second solo show,Six Frets Under.[5]Later that year, he received international press attention when a video of him quitting his job atStarbucksby singing a song to the patrons about what a bad boss the manager was, went viral.[6]
During theCOVID-19 pandemiche uploaded songs to social networking platforms such asYouTubeandTikTok,[7]many of which were also released on the comedy albumQuarantine Bops.[1]
In 2022, he returned to the Toronto Fringe Festival withThis Show Will Change Your Life,a show parodyingself-helpbooks and themes that also included a song about hisbisexualityin which he gets revenge on an ex-partner by dating both of their parents.[8]In 2023, he premieredArtificially Intelligent,which blended some of his older songs with new creations including a song written byChatGPT,atBuddies in Bad Timesduring the 2023 Queer Pride Festival.[9]
