Anna Crowley(born 8 February 2000) is a New Zealandfield hockeyplayer.

Personal life[edit]

Crowley was born on 8 February 2000 inNew Plymouth,and grew up there.[1][2][3]She is the daughter of Alan Crowley, who played representativerugby unionforTaranaki,the niece of rugby union coach and former playerKieran Crowley,and the cousin ofCasey Crowley,who is also a member of the Black Sticks.[4]

Career[edit]

Under–21[edit]

Crowley made her international debut for New Zealand at Under–21 level. She represented thejunior squadin a2019 Tri–Nations TournamentinCanberra.[5]

Black Sticks[edit]

In 2021, Crowley received her first call up to the national squad.[6]

Due to theCOVID-19 pandemic,Crowley was unable to make her debut for the national team in 2021. She was named in the national squad again in 2022, which eventually lead to her international debut.[4]She made her first international appearance againstAustraliaduring theTrans–Tasman SeriesinAuckland.[5]Following her debut, Crowley was named in the squads for theFIH World CupinTerrassaandAmsterdam,as well as theCommonwealth GamesinBirmingham.[7]

Crowley continued representing theBlack Sticksinto 2023, appearing duringseason fourof theFIH Pro League.[8][5]
