Archive on 4,previouslyThe Archive Hour,[1]is aBBC Radio 4programme which uses audio clips mainly sourced from theBBC Sound Archiveto illustrate a different theme in each edition.[2][3]

A variety of guest speakers, often with a connection to the week's subject, present the show.[4]

The programme is broadcast on Saturday evenings at 8pm in the United Kingdom, and an archive of past issues is available to listen again.[4][5]

The first edition ofThe Archive Hour,presented byClaire Rayner,was broadcast on 11 April 1998.[6]The programme title was changed toArchive on 4from 3 January 2009.[7]
