Arsh Muneerwas a Pakistani actress and singer who acted in television dramas.[2]She played roles in the dramasKhuda Ki Basti,Shama,Shehzori,Zair, Zabar, Pesh,Intezar FarmaiyeandAna.[2]

Early life

Arsh was born in 1914 inLucknow,British India.[3]She migrated to Pakistan inKarachiwith her family.[3]Later she completed her studies from theUniversity of Karachi.[3][4]She started working atRadio PakistaninLahorein 1947 after migrating toPakistan.[3][5][6]She also did stage shows and theatre plays.[7][8]

Career

While she was in India she started working atAll India RadioinDelhi.She made her debut as an actress on PTV in 1964.[2][9]She performed in dramasZair, Zabar, Pesh,JaidiandEid Ka Jora.[10][11]She also appeared in dramasOh, Maaf Kijiye,Intezar Farmaiye,Kya Bane BaatandFanooni Lateefay.[12][13]She worked at Radio Pakistan for 30 years.[14][15]She also appeared in movieInsan Badalta Hay.[16][17]She also sanged songs for Radio, dramas and films.[3][18]Since then she appeared in dramasAna,Ba Adab Ba Mulahiza HoshiyarandShehzori.[19][20]For her contributions towards the television industry, she was honored by theGovernment of Pakistanwith thePride of Performancein 1983.[21]In 2005, Tributes were paid to her at the1st Indus Drama AwardsinKarachiby television personalitiesMoin Akhter,Babra Sharif,Faysal Qureshi,Humayun Saeed,Sultana SiddiquiandAdnan Siddiqui.[22][23]

Arsh was married and had five children.[3]

Death

She died on 8 September 1998 in Karachi and was buried at Sakhi Hassan Graveyard.[3]
