History
[edit]The Asmara Birra plays in theEritrean Premier Leaguesince the 1990s.[2]
The team was initially founded in 1944 with the nameAsmara Birraby the engineer Melotti, who founded the "Asmara Brewery" under the name of GS Hamasien[3](he had already founded in 1936 theGS Melotti,an amateur football team inItalian Asmara[4]).
In 2008, the club won the Eritrea championship.[5]
