Aviat Aircraft Inc.is an American manufacturer of sport and utilityaircraftbased inAfton, Wyoming.[1]

History[edit]

The company was founded in 1991 based on the history of theCall Aircraft Companyand the product lines of the Pitts andChristencompanies.[2][3]In 1995, the company was purchased by Stuart Horn and renamedAviat Aircraft Incorporated.[4][5]

In 1999, Aviat purchased the rights to theGlobe Swiftwith the intent on bringing the example back into production. A lawsuit between LoPresti's use of the design for theLoPresti Furydelayed entry of both aircraft from the market.[6]

The company also produces theAviat 150andAviat 152.These are overhauled, rebuilt and paintedCessna 150andCessna 152s.[7]
