Ayam kodok(lit. 'frog chicken'inIndonesian) is anIndonesianstuffed and roasted chicken, commonly served as a holiday staple duringChristmasand other special occasions.[1]The dish dates back to the colonial era, likely related togevulde kip,the Dutch stuffed chicken dish.[1]
Preparation
[edit]Ayam kodok preparation requires deboning achicken,and then stuffing it with ground chicken meat with beef or pork, spices, vegetables, and hard boiled eggs.[2]The chicken is then optionally steamed before it is roasted.[2]
