Aymanam John(born 10 April 1953) is aMalayalam–languageshort-story writer. He hails fromAymanam,a small village inKerala'sKottayam districtwhich was made famous byArundhati Roythrough her 1997 novelThe God of Small Things.[1]

John has also written several stories of this village including a collection of memoirs titledEnnittumundu Thaamarappoikakal,where he narrates his native place, the scenic countryside, the people and places and moments that he cherishes.[2]His other famous books includeIthara Characharangalude Charitrapusthakam,Christmas Marathinte VeruandAymanam Johninte Kathakal(which won the 2017Odakkuzhal Award).[3]He received the 2017Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Story.[4]
