Banny Oikawa(バニー cập xuyên,Banī Oikawa)is a Japaneseprofessional wrestlercurrently performing the JapanesepromotionIce Ribbonwhere she is a formerTriangle Ribbon Champion.[3]
Professional wrestling career

[edit]Oikawa is best known for her tenure withIce Ribbon.She made herprofessional wrestlingdebut atRibbonMania 2018on December 31, where she won theTriangle Ribbon Championshipat her very debut by defeating reigning championMiyako MatsumotoandMatsuya Unoin athree-way match.[4]Oikawa underwent her official debut match atIce Ribbon New Ice Ribbon #957 Golden Weekon May 1, 2019, where she dropped the Triangle title toMaya Yukihiin a match which also involved Tsukasa Fujimoto.[5]During her tenure with the promotion, Oikawa chased for other championships promoted by it. AtIce Ribbon New Ice Ribbon #977on August 14, 2019, she competed in a tournament for the vacantICE Cross Infinity Championshipin which she fell short to Maya Yukihi in the second round.[6]
She also took part in many match gimmicks. AtRibbonMania 2019on December 31, she competed inTequila Saya's retirement match, agauntlet matchin which the latter put herself against 44 opponents. Some of the most notable were Oikawa herself alongsideMiku Aono,Ken Ohka,Manami Toyota,Risa Sera,Rina Yamashita,Ram Kaicho,Syuri,Tae Honma,and many others.[7]AtIce Ribbon P's Party #93on November 17, 2021, Oikawa participated atRina Shingaki's last match from Ice Ribbon before her retirement, agauntlet matchin which Shingaki defeated all the participants including Asahi,Hamuko Hoshi,Momo Kohgo,Satsuki Totoro,Tsukushi Haruka,Yuki Mashiroand others.[8]Oikawa competed in one of the promotion's signature events, the 2020 edition of the Kizuna Tournament in which she teamed up withHiragi Kurumiand fell short toSuzu Suzukiand Maya Yukihi in the first rounds.[9]
Independent scene (2019–present)
[edit]Due to Ice Ribbon sharing business partnerships with various promotions, Oikawa competed in several companies of theJapanese independent scene,working as a joshi talent. At2AW ChiBattle 36,an event promoted byActive Advance Pro Wrestlingon June 23, 2019, she teamed up with Bambi in a losing effort against Rina Shingaki andAyame Sasamura.[10]AtDDT Ganbare Joshi Pro Wrestling,an event promoted by then-timeDDT Pro-Wrestlingsatellite promotionGanbare Pro-Wrestlingon February 2, 2020, Oikawa competed twice. First in atwo-count rules matchin which she fell short toMoeka Haruhi,and secondly in asecret captain's fall matchin which she teamed up with Cherry andYuuin a losing effort against Haruhi,HarukazeandAsuka.[11]At ahouse showpromoted byWorld Woman Pro-Wrestling Dianaon February 10, 2020, Oikawa fell short toNanamiinsingles competition.[12]
