Bashnouna(Coptic:ⲡⲓϣⲉⲛⲛⲟⲩϥⲓ,romanized:Pišennoufi)[1](died 19 May 1164) was aCopticsaintandmartyr.

According to hishagiography,Bashnouna was amonkin theMonastery of Saint Macarius the GreatinScetes.He was arrested by theFatimidauthorities during the caliphate ofAl-'Āḍid,and threatened to face death if he were not to convert toIslam.Having refused, Bashnouna was burned alive on24 Pashons,880A.M.Tooltip Anno Martyrum(19 May 1164 AD) His relics were buried at theChurch of Saint SergiusinCairo.
