In 1989, she became the co-host of CNN'sShowbiz Today, replacingBill Tush;[4]however, in 1993, CNN chose not to renew her contract, replacing her onShowbiz TodaywithJim Moret,[5]whichVarietyattributed to Moret being perceived as "more serious" than Shaw.[6]

She subsequently joined Santa Clarita Valley local TV broadcasting withTime Warner Cable.
