Berhampore Court(BPC):- is a railway station on theSealdah-Lalgola lineand is located inMurshidabad districtin the Indian state ofWest Bengal.[2][3]It servesBerhamporecity and its surrounding census areas.

History

The Calcutta (Sealdah)–Kusthialine ofEastern Bengal Railwaywas opened to traffic in 1862.[4]TheRanaghat–Lalgola branch line was established in 1905 as an extension ofSealdah–Ranaghat line.This railway station was named Berhampore Court in accordance with the British pronunciation of Baharampore as "Berhampore".[5][6]The rail distance between Berhampore and Sealdah is approximately 186 km (116 mi).

Expansion and electrification

Krishnanagar to Lalgola electrification and line doubling were completed in March 2017.[citation needed]
