Brett Johnsonis an Americantelevision writer.He has worked onRay DonovanandMad Men,winning twoWriters Guild of America-Best Drama Series Awardsfor the latter.

Johnson co-wrote theMad Menepisode "The Grown-Ups" with series creator and show runnerMatthew Weiner,which went on to be nominated for the WGA award. Johnson and the writing staff also won theWriters Guild of America (WGA) Awardfor Best Drama Series at theFebruary 2010 ceremonyfor their work on the third season.[1][2]

In 2018, Johnson served as co-creator and showrunner of the miniseriesEscape at DannemorawithMichael Tolkin.[3]The series was based on the real-life2015 Clinton Correctional Facility escapethat led to a massive manhunt for two escape convicts in upstate New York.
