History

On November 26, 2004,Rogers Mediareceived CRTC approval to operate a newEnglish-languagecommercial FMnews/talkradio station at 91.9 FM inMoncton,New Brunswick.[1] CKNI's first broadcast was on October 11, 2005 with studios located on Assomption Boulevard in downtown Moncton. CKNI was networked with sister stationsCHNI-FMinSaint John(which has since been sold toNewcap Radioand flipped to arockformat in July 2014), andCJNI-FMinHalifax.Broadcasts included the national award-winning morning news/talk showThe Morning News with Allan Dearing and Tara Clowfrom 6 to 10am weekdays. CKNI also broadcastMoncton Wildcats,Ottawa SenatorsandToronto Blue Jaysgames.

On March 31, 2014, CKNI was sold toAcadia Broadcasting.[2]On August 8, 2014, CKNI flipped toadult contemporary,branded as91.9 The Bend.
