Candidate phylum TG3(akacandidate division Termite Group 3orChitinivibrioniaSorokin et al. 2014)[1]is acandidate phylumthat is closely related to thephylumFibrobacterotabased on16S rRNAgene phylogeny. Originally thought to be composed solely of sequences fromtermiteguts, it was later found to be more widespread in nature.[2]
